A native public defense lawyer is celebrating her first trial victory. Megan Treuer successfully defended a Red Lake man charged with fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle. The counsel for the prosecution was disappointed by the verdict but says yesterday's jury verdict was fairly rendered.

A last minute decision by state lawmakers is likely to cause delays for Bemidji air travelers this winter. Replacement of an important landing beacon has been delayed. Pilots say without the V-O-R beacon they often have to fly further burning more fuel because air traffic controllers have to manually to route them.

Commencement, it is a big day for the graduates, but it is also a big day for many of their families. John Parsons followed a family from Wisconsin as they watched their grad walk. During the ceremony BSU honored 3M vice president Alex Cirillo as this years distinguished Minnesotan.
